South Valley Science and Engineering Fair (SVSEF)
South Valley Science and Engineering Fair (SVSEF) is a new non-profit project of the Morgan Hill Kiwanis Youth Fund (501(C)(3)). SVSEF has evolved from the former Morgan Hill Science Fair and is open to all 6th-12th grade students living in and/or attending schools in Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy, California.
SVSEF operates as part of an extended Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) competition pathway which begins with a local Science and Engineering Fair (SEF) that is compliant with International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) project and safety guidelines. As such, top-placing students can move sequentially to county, state and international SEFs. (Synopsys Championship, and California State SEF and ISEF respectively).
SVSEF is not only a competition, but also a STEM celebration that nurtures innovative thinking, supports a culture of ethics and safety (so all projects require pre-approval by our Safety/Science Review Committee, SRC), and recognizes projects completed by the South Valley’s inquiring young minds. We provide all entrants an equal opportunity to excel based solely on their STEM research.
